Cut from Clarity

If you ask us, what this show is about, we agree to say that we make work out of a classic Motivation and a laughing (sometimes crying) critique. We want to pool with curiosity, tenderness and passion. Like to drink coffee with a piece of clarity from the clarity-cake. 


We centre mostly around some form of a figuration which sometimes becomes landscape, often expanding from the middle like a centerfold. We advise to approach works by asking as if they were a dog. Where the language is different but there are still ways to understand. Some figures are seeded from Literature, Music and History, they reflect on society but we don’t try to detangle Human from Nature. 

 

We don’t do concepts more than a trickster. 

We don’t preach more than a Harlequin. 

We have history and humour to cut clarity from.

Some say thats a mutual hallelujah.

Ein Stück Klarheit

Stephanie Jacobs arbeitet mir Keramik und Malerei. Karim Reyle druckt kleine und große

Farbholzschnitte.

In der Ausstellung trägt das Künstlerpaar aus den letzten Jahren entstandene Arbeiten zusammen.

Stephanie und Karim schaffen Kunst (wenn dies mit den Worten Neugier, Zärtlichkeit und Humor

übersetzt werden kann), um zu lernen.

Ganz einfach. Wie Kaffee trinken. Und ein kleines Stück Klarheit empfinden.

Oder um auch emotional die Welt zu verarbeiten.

​

Wir bemühen uns, dabei nicht mehr Konzepte als ein Zauberkünstler zu verwenden

und nicht mehr als ein Harlekin zu predigen.

Um ein gegenseitiges Halleluja zu suchen.
